GTM injects a bunch of tags synchronously. Our audit still shows analytics cookies firing before the user clicks Accept. What's the correct wiring?

Are you using GTM's consent-mode v2 or the legacy v1?

GTM needs to be configured with our consent-mode adapter. Load our SDK *before* GTM's snippet, then GTM will honor the consent state. Otherwise it fires under default 'granted'.

Also verify your GTM container has consent-mode v2 enabled — v1 doesn't respect denied state for all tag types.
